Sport and Athletics
Ms.Jones: Design and Engineering
Term2

Discover the power of practical design and engineering while developing creativity with resilience at its core. Pupils will take a hands-on approach, transforming engineering principles into real-world solutions. Guided by authentic design briefs, they will move through a structured design process, from initial research and concept development to prototyping and testing. Along the way, they will apply key principles such as material science, structural integrity, and sustainable design, ensuring that every project is not only functional but also inventive and thoughtful.
By working within real constraints, pupils will strengthen their problem-solving abilities and gain a deeper appreciation of how engineering shapes the world around them. Sustainable design will be explored through the thoughtful use of local resources, encouraging children to respect and respond to the environment in imaginative ways. Each project will be rooted in the natural materials available to them, prompting sustainable thinking and resourceful innovation. Whatever the design challenge, pupils will learn how to create with intelligence, adaptability, and purpose.
Term2/Term3
Mr.Wang: Drama and
Music Performance
Here, the stage is no longer confined to a traditional theatre, and music extends far beyond costly instruments. We believe that every child is born with artistic potential and that nature is one of the most generous sources of inspiration. The distinctive strength of this course lies in its seamless fusion of drama and music performance. Whether a child delights in storytelling through movement or in expressing emotion through rhythm, they will find a place to shine. Our dual-track approach encompasses drama, music, and moments when the two art forms converge in imaginative harmony.

This is a joyful departure from the ordinary practice room. We champion a philosophy of using what nature provides, moving the classroom into woodlands and open meadows where the environment itself becomes both prop room and instrument workshop. Branches and sturdy sticks become primitive drumsticks, while deadwood, stones, and hollow bamboo create an extraordinary range of natural sounds. A leaf may become a letter, a handful of sand a castle, and a piece of bark a mask. Drawing on the abundance of the natural world, pupils will design and craft the props and scenery for their performances, learning to create with imagination, sensitivity, and flair.
Ms.Aswegen: Nature Exploration
and Engineering Challenges
Term 3)

Curiosity takes centre stage as children explore their surroundings to identify the remarkable living organisms and non-living elements that shape our environment. Through an energetic, science-based scavenger hunt, they will sharpen their observational skills while uncovering hidden treasures in nature. The adventure continues with an exploration of camouflage, revealing how plants and animals adapt to blend into their surroundings for survival. Armed with new knowledge, pupils will then be challenged to identify as many distinctive plant and animal species as possible.
The excitement then shifts from discovery to invention through a series of hands-on, nature-based engineering challenges. Using only materials found in their environment, pupils will put their critical thinking and understanding of physics to the test as they construct a miniature bridge, build a waterproof shelter, and engineer a gravity tower. It is an invitation to explore, create, and innovate with confidence.
Term1
Ms.Adam: Earth Science

Earth Science: From Ancient Fossils to Modern Maps
Campers will step into the role of Earth scientists, uncovering the stories written in rock, water, air, and land. Through practical investigation and creative project work, they will explore the fundamental processes that shape our planet. At the same time, students develop skills in scientific enquiry, applied STEM learning, environmental literacy, collaboration, and communication.
1. Uncovering Earth’s History: Explore geological forces and clues such as stromatolites, then create models to understand the formation of landscapes and fossils.
2. Water and Air Science: Investigate the water cycle and meteorology, and explore humidity, condensation, and weather through experimentation.
3. Environmental Observers: Work as field scientists, learning how to measure, document, collect, and analyse environmental data to interpret local patterns.
4. Mapping Our World: Learn the fundamentals of cartography, including orienteering, scale, symbols, and navigation, then use grids and compasses to read and create maps.
Mr.Grinsdale: Sport and Athletics
Term2
Ready for an energetic summer? The Sport and Athletics programme is an outdoor experience designed to strengthen physical health, mental well-being, and personal growth through a dynamic blend of team and individual activities. From football and basketball to athletics and racquet sports, campers will develop communication, teamwork, and leadership while also building confidence, discipline, and resilience. Outdoor fitness challenges keep the experience varied and enjoyable, encouraging every child to remain active in a vibrant natural setting.

Regular exercise in the fresh air improves fitness, reduces stress, and elevates mood. Equally important is the social dimension: making friends and learning how to connect with others form an essential part of the journey.
The result is a balanced and memorable experience that helps young people grow into confident, active, and well-rounded individuals, equipped with lifelong skills and a lasting appreciation for sport, health, and teamwork.
