Into the Classroom | Microsoft Global Learning Connection
The Microsoft Global Learning Connection allows thousands of pupils worldwide to connect with peers around the world through Teams, ‘travelling’ nearly 50,000,000 virtual kilometers in the process. As a member of Microsoft Showcase School, Wellington College International Tianjin was honored to participate in this year's Microsoft Global Learning Connection. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils had opportunities to connect with peers in Gyenam elementary school from Bucheon (Korea) and Qhi-Qing elementary school from Taipei, and share their views, experiences, and knowledge about technology, local history, culture, and food. In addition, the students also exchanged views on whether their daily study and weekend life gradually returned to normal after the COVID-19 epidemic. Students actively communicated and interacted with each other. Our pupils also conversed with students from Korea and Taiwan, China about campus life, including their school uniform culture and favorite subjects. Students learned a lot through active communication and exchange of ideas. The event was supported by Microsoft offices in the three locations and it was a big success, putting smiles on the faces of students and teachers in all three schools. We are looking forward to Microsoft Global Learning Connection 2021!
