A New Journey Begins
The new school year has started at Wellington College in Tianjin. The first day is always an exciting occasion, and pupils arriving this morning had extra reasons to charge through the school gates. The evidence of a busy summer of facilities’ work is obvious all across the estate, with the Nest redevelopment, new outdoor areas for younger pupils and a wonderful new Founder’s Library to support learning across the community.

Pupils, refreshed from their summer break and inspired by the achievements of the previous year, will find the school looking better than ever as we enter our 10th anniversary since the foundation. There will be plenty of time to discover more about the series of exciting events which will mark the start of our second decade in Tianjin, so in the meantime, our pupils can once more settle into the familiar and supportive learning environment of their school.
“Preparations for the new school year and the responsibility for welcoming almost 600 pupils to the school mean that my colleagues are as excited about the coming year as our pupils,” commented Mr Jeffrey, the Master. “Whilst some Covid-related restrictions are in place, we cannot once again come together as a full community, but they do ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our children and staff. As it is our 10th birthday this year, we are particularly delighted to see the school once more filled with such joy, learning and friendship.”
