Bus Services and Routes

Wellington College provides a school bus service which offers safe transport for our pupils to and from school. This is provided in cooperation with one of the largest bus companies in Tianjin, Tianjin YiLong Transportation Co., Ltd. 

Scheduling and routing are designed to minimise journey times as far as possible and provide the most convenient routes, pick-up/drop-off points for parents and pupils. We currently offer twelve bus routes, covering most areas of Tianjin, with the aim of ensuring that pupils arrive at school by 0815hrs. The afternoon bus for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays will depart from school premises at 1700hrs; on Wednesdays and Fridays will depart from school at 1600hrs.

Each bus is supervised by a bus monitor, who registers pupils as they board and leave the bus as well as managing the pupils’ behaviour. The bus monitor is empowered by the Master to maintain order and discipline on the bus. Pupils are required to follow the bus monitor’s instructions at all the times, especially in the event of an emergency.

Parents wishing for their child/children to travel by the school bus to and/or from school should secure the booking by completing the School Bus Application Form. The Application Form must be signed and returned either by email to schoolbus.tianjin@wellingtoncollege.cn or handed into the Bus Coordinator at the Reception desk in the Main Building. Once availability for the seat and bus route is confirmed, the Bus Coordinator will inform the parents either by email or phone call with the relevant details, including the start date, time and location for pick-up and drop off. The Bus Monitor’s contact information also will be provided to the parents.

In case of applications during the year, please be aware that these may take up to 5 working days to process. For any temporary or permanent changes on bus timing or routes that may occur during the year, parents and pupils will be informed of such changes in advance.

Parents/guardians should display the School ID card when they drop off and pick up their child/children at the bus stops.

Please note that children under five years of age need special permission to take the school bus. Pupils in the Eaglets' class are not permitted to take the school bus.

Fee Schedule

The school bus fee can be paid annually or termly through school official billing and payment channel. For the fee schedule please refer below for the school year 2022-23:

Bus fees must be paid by the due date. Pupils with overdue payment will not be allowed to use the bus service until outstanding accounts are settled with the finance department. The bus fee is non-transferable and non-refundable in case of cancellation of classes.

Tax Fapiao for the school bus fee can be issued by the school bus company on an individual basis, subject to request. Parents should contact the bus coordinator for any official Tax Fapiao request. Refund Policy

For annual payers who have taken advantage of annual payment discount but subsequently leave the school within the school year, the full incentive amount will be discontinued, and payment will be charged at the normal fee rates.
