We are always very keen to improve the quality of our communications and we hope you like the new format of the Week Ahead introduced earlier this term. From this week, we are adding a new forward calendar section. As you know, we have many educational, cultural and sporting meetings and events taking place through each term, as per our termly calendar, viewable on our website. If forward calendar reminders would also help your planning, you can now find in future editions of ‘The Week Ahead’, for easy quick reference, a list of events for the month ahead.
Many College events in the coming weeks now take on a Seasonal character. These begin with carol singing by the College Choir at the Astor Hotel on Saturday evening, the first in a series of performances across the city over the next few weeks. Particular mention should also be made here of next week’s Shakespeare Drama workshops, in our Seldon and Black Box theatres, led by the world-renowned Globe Theatre Company. We are very privileged to host these.
We would greatly welcome your support if you are able to attend any or all of our special events. These are excellent opportunities to see our young people achieve in wider contexts beyond the classroom, to encourage them as they develop their creative talents, and to celebrate successful team work. Many of our events also extend our pupils’ leadership skills, and on that note we would also like to remind parents and students of the GSL leadership course, open to students from Years 7-13, taking place the week-end after the end of term. Mrs Sabio can provide further details, jayne.sabio@wellingtoncollege.cn
With best wishes to all our Wellington families.

Upcoming Calendar Events For The Community
I am delighted to announce that we will be running a regular calendar feature in the Week Ahead that casts its focus across a longer time span than is usually associated with this publication. I will be drawing attention to events that appeal most to parents and friends of Wellington. The focus will usually be on the cultural, artistic and sporting highlights that welcome parental involvement. The events listed below are all open to parents, free of charge, and I would be delighted to see as many of you there as possible over the remaining weeks of the term.
