Midsummer Night's Dream

26 Apr 2017
“The course of true love never did run smooth”. In the magic world of William Shakespeare. On Friday 21st April, the Junior Shakespeare Drama Club prepared a special event. To celebrate the anniversary of Shakespeare’s death our young artists from Year 5 and 6 performed the adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, one of the most famous comedies of all time - a story of order and disorder, reality and appearance, love and marriage. The stage turned into Ancient Greece, where young Athenians were trying to save their love by escaping to the enchanted forest and soon found their lives changed by the doings of the warring king and Queen of the fairies and their mischievous servant Puck. Magic, action, passion and humor were the ingredients for this unforgettable performance. With a warm reception from the audience it showed that Shakespeare’s story still has a timeless quality. Well done indeed to all our Pupils!
