The Junior School Olympics Opening Ceremony at Wellington

With the topic 'The First Olympians' as the designated Entry Point for the new Inquiry Unit of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the entire Junior School was engaged in an activity to recreate and celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The Olympic motto, "Faster, Higher, Stronger" provided the motivation for an impressive Olympic parade, with pupils from the Nest being cheered on by their classmates across the Junior School. Pupils represented a diverse range of countries, flying flags and wearing appropriate dress, reminiscent of more complex Senior School activities such as Model United Nations (MUN).

Junior School pupils will further explore this Milepost 1 topic over the next four weeks, with teaching staff striving to bring diversity and creativity into the learning process, both inside and outside of the classroom.
