A full Day Out In London
Today was always going to be a busy day as we had planned to see and do lots of things.
Our day began with a ride on one of the river boat cruises. This hour long ride took us past many of the famous sites along the River Thames - The Houses of Parliament, with the Elizabeth Tower housing Big Ben, The Globe Theatre, HMS Belfast, Cleopatra's Needle and along to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London before heading back to the London Eye.
We then went on the London Eye. Unlike the weather on Friday when we got soaked, today was a beautifully sunny day which meant that we could see for miles across the whole city. We could see the arc part of Wembley Stadium which is where the hotel is.
After a lovely lunch in the park and an ice-cream, we headed over to Covent Gardens to do a spot of shopping and to watch the street performers.
Pizza Express filled us up before we headed for the mystery musical show. Only 3 people knew what we were going to watch and they were Mrs. Elrick, Mrs. Hackett and Miss Ashley. So, it came as a pleasant surprise to Mr. Allen and everyone else when we arrived at the Lyceum Theatre to see The Lion King. Our seats were in the best place to see this - 3 rows from the front and by the aisle so we had the elephants and other performers coming down the aisle next to us. Just amazing!
It made for a late night though as we returned to the hotel at 11pm!
Tomorrow is a late start before we head over to Eagle House.
