2016 CIS University Tour comes to Wellington

13 Apr 2016
2016 CIS University Tour comes to Wellington On Thursday 24th March, the School was delighted to host the CIS University Tour – a delegation of over 20 distinct and prestigious colleges and universities. Coordinated by the Head of Sixth Form and University Guidance at the School – Mr. Neil Elrick, the CIS Fair provided yet another effective platform from which to approach options in higher education. In addition to the International University Fair at the School – an annual community event that brings pupils and parents face-to-face with college and university admissions officers and department representatives, the School receives visits from over one hundred global universities and colleges every year. In the selection of options for higher education, pupils are encouraged to not only be proactive in asking practical questions regarding their courses, but more importantly are provided with the platform from which to assess all options available. In cooperating so positively with such a wide range of educational institutions domestically and abroad, senior school pupils at Wellington receive access to a world of options, all within a supported and structured Sixth Form environment which fully involves subject teachers, pastoral supervisors, parents and pupil. The tour was organised by CIS – the Council of International Schools, and provided pupils and parents at Wellington with an excellent opportunity “to become familiar with the wide variety of higher education options that are offered abroad.” With over 1000 educational institutions in 112 countries worldwide, CIS is an international, non-profit educational organisation that focuses on supporting international school groups worldwide across a wide range of areas, including evaluation and recruitment.
