About the Wellington College International Tianjin Fringe Festival
Organised by Wellington College International Tianjin in collaboration with a range of local, national and international groups and institutions, the Wellington Fringe is a celebration of diversity and creativity in education. Showcasing a riot of innovative events and activities, this all-embracing, rich series of performances, fairs and concerts will share the wonders of learning with Tianjin's multicultural and colourful international community.
The Wellington College International Tianjin Fringe Festival represents a revolution in learning, encouraging young people at school to be imaginative and individual, whilst encouraging adults and the wider community to become more closely connected to modern culture and education. Whether it be on the stage or on the easel, the Fringe will change your perspective on the role of the school in society by parading the talent of pupils and the passion of their educators.
A selection of events will aim to support SHAKESPEARE LIVES – a global programme celebrating Shakespeare’s work and influence. Shakespeare is seen as a master of the English language. His 37 plays and 154 sonnets have added over 3000 words and hundreds of idioms to the English language.
In hosting the Wellington Fringe, the School is proud to host individuals or institutions that have something to add to proceedings. To express an interest, contact us at events@wellington-tianjin.cn
“Do we truly understand the purpose of education? Do we really think that going to school is only about achieving good exam results?”
