House Debating

House Debating

On the last Monday of term the first round of the 2015-16 House Debating Competition took place. The theme was ‘Morals’ and motions involved animal rights, sexual orientation, terrorism and foreign intervention. Preparing for and speaking in a debate on emotive issues like these is an excellent way of understanding other people’s views and developing a tolerant mindset. This year with five houses there will be many more opportunities for pupils to take part – we encourage everyone to talk to their Housemaster about trying out on the team next time round!
