Art trip to Hong Kong

13 Jan 2016

Last weekend a group of senior Wellington Art students spent four days in Hong Kong, experiencing the sights and partaking in a series of digital workshops at world-renowned Arts university SCAD HK. SCAD specializes in higher education degrees for creative careers and our students were invited to take part in two animation workshops with SCAD professors. In the first workshop students learnt how to design their own animation character. In the second, they were introduced to 3D digital animation techniques using industry-standard software, Maya.

Being in Hong Kong our Wellington group took the opportunity to visit the Big Buddha and took a night-trip across Kowloon bay on the Star Ferry. Shopping and eating completed the four day trip and everyone enjoyed the warm weather!

There are likely to be future Art trips to Hong Kong for other year groups so please watch this space for further information.
