Healthy Eating Week
Every day last week, the Daily Special counter at lunch offered a healthy dish chosen by students in one of our five Houses and prepared according to their recipe, by Mr Li the Head Chef and his team. We have rarely seen such a level of interest from pupils in what was on their plates! As many as 240 daily specials were ordered on one day, far exceeding the usual numbers. House Points will go to the winners, to be announced soon after the holiday.
On Wednesday, the Senior School Assembly welcomed Mrs Regina Toguchi of Sodexo to give a presentation to students about healthy eating. Our thanks go to her for a lively and interesting talk – ask your child to recite the 8 tips for good health!
The talk for parents by SOS International sadly had to be postponed. Please watch this space, and read the Week Ahead, to be sure you hear about the revised date when we have confirmed it.
Thanks to parents who came along on Thursday morning to listen to Mr Gillings explain in detail about the tutorial system and the Well-Being course in the Senior School. For those of you who were unable to attend, the annotated presentation will shortly be available on this website with Chinese and Korean translation.
Finally our thanks to Mr Boobier for organising our first Farmers’ Market, held in the Black Box on Friday afternoon. This friendly and enjoyable event succeeded in bringing together pupils, parents, staff and several outside companies in a perfect opportunity to put into practice some things we learned this week, and to taste delicious organic produce.
