Milepost 1 “Push and Pull” their way into their new IPC Unit.
11 Jan 2016
Every move we make is a result of a force. We can call these forces ‘pushes’ or ‘pulls’. In order for children in Milepost 1 to investigate this as part of the Entry Point for the ‘Push Me, Pull You!’ unit, they had several Tug-of-Wars on the playground. Each team had to strategize and think about the following:
- Unequal numbers
- Strength mix
- Boy/girl mix
- Order of position on either side
- Any coordinated commands (‘Heave!’)
Children came away with a clearer idea of how forces affect every move we make.
