Senior Inter House Badminton 2015
As expected the senior inter house competition was a close and entertaining affair. The Orange, buoyed by their success in basketball, had a powerful squad with Tony Chen as the number one seed. It was also pleasing to see students like Lisa Wang, Cherry Chen and Rebecca Jiang representing the House. The Blucher also put out a strong 16; Joseph Cooper was selected as the number one seed, and as the competition progressed he put in a number of commanding and skillful performances. JaeBin Hwang also performed very well for Blucher. The Wellesley had some difficulty getting 16 players with a number of their top players away in Cambodia, but to their credit they raised a side and all the players selected performed with distinction. Billie Archer in particular played well in all her games. Reigning champions The Stanley, as expected, had a powerful team. The middle school squad was very strong with Evan and Elliot Lee, Oscar Goefron and Seungbin Hwang making a strong 4. Alejandro Sabio ended up playing for the Senior team (KS4) and he performed very well against strong opposition. Jason Liu was once again the number 1 seed and he had an exciting game against Tony. Esztella Wang put in a number of strong performances and made a valuable contribution to Stanley’s final score. Throughout the day there were a number of close and exciting matches with all the pupils performing well for their respective Houses. As always it was pleasing to see the competitors all work so hard but also demonstrate the correct sporting conduct throughout.
When the final scores were added together Stanley once again emerged the winners. They won one more game than the Orange house and had the highest number of points.
