Showing Love, bringing Hope and giving Support
Going from to strength our students worked so well in the villages that we could make time to help at the orphanage too. They mustered all the energy they could to help lay the best part of a much-needed road to the orphanage. We also began working with the local builders to get a new roof for the communal area; they will update us once it is complete.
Everyone has given so generously and we were able to provide so much for their schooling, health and other practical needs. The days we spent with them did go so much above and beyond their practical needs, the personal connections our students made with the children at the orphanage were truly heartfelt and heartwarming. Many of our students are sure of one thing; they will be back and they want to keep making a difference in the lives of these precious children in Cambodia. The day we bid farewell, our Chinese students helped us pick out New Year decorations and treats to celebrate with the children. Truly GONG XI FA CAI!
As we packed and begun our return journey to Tianjin, I could not have felt more proud of our students and I have a growing sense that for many, this is only the start of a much greater journey.
