Year 8 Trip to Beidaihe
Just after the October break, all of Year 8, a group of thirty senior school children went to Beidaihe (Qinghuangdao) as part of their Geography studies. This was an overnight trip where the students investigated long shore drift, sediment size and beach profiles.
Working on the Beidaihe coastline, the students were able to experience Geography in the field. This has greatly added to their overall understanding of the shifting nature of coastlines. Fun was had by all, but most importantly the trip was very successful as fieldwork was conducted to a very good standard.
Many thanks to Mr. Des O’Sullivan (EAL, English and Geography Teacher), who organised and conducted the trip with care and precision. Huge praise also should be given to Ms Alissa Goefron (Head of EAL) and Sonny Coduri Fulford (Gap-year student), who both helped most professionally.
