Senior Pupils Put Politics Upfront at TIANMUN

11 Jan 2016

A number of our Senior School pupils, ranging from Years 9 to 13, recently took part in a Model United Nations (MUN) conference at Tianjin International School. The event was also attended by a number of International schools from the Tianjin and Beijing areas. Wellington students acted as delegates from Israel, Pakistan, Chile and Rwanda which involved putting forward positions related to a number of current global political hot topics from as varied as Restoring Political Stability and Governmental Authority in Ukraine to Measures in Ensuring Social Welfare for Ageing Societies. After a series of lobbying and debates, resolutions were carefully drafted to address these burning issues. Many hours of behind-the-scenes research and preparation were invested by our MUN pupils. HUGE congratulations to you all! We’re now busy preparing for our next conference in Shanghai in January 2015.
