Year 5 and 6 ISCOT Football Tournament

11 Jan 2016

The Year 5/6 A team got off to a flyer against IST who were left thunderstruck by an early goal with Wellington holding on for a 1-0 win. Andy proved to be a hero in the second game against TIS with a winning goal to secure a 2-1 victory. After a very slow start in the final group game, the boys had to come together to grind out a win against the other IST team in our group. A 2-0 win meant that the team finished top of the group and would meet IST again in the semi-finals. After a blistering 5 minutes Wellington went 3-0 up, IST were running on empty but still continued to work hard and managed to pull a goal back in the final minutes to make the final score 3-1. In the final, Wellington met TIS whose striker proved to be the heartbreaker for our boys. His incredible pace and deadly finishing must have felt like 99 problems for Harry in goal as he scored a hat-trick and got an assist to make the final score 4-0.  Our boys played well and gave everything but on the day this ‘Rocket Man’ was the difference.

So runners up for the 5/6 boys which was a great achievement and something they should be proud of.

Well done!
