The Chinese Character Week

One of the fundamental aims of Wellington College, Tianjin is to give every opportunity to bring Chinese into the experience of our pupils , from native-speakers to absolute beginners. In addition to their classroom practice, our teachers offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and events, including the Chinese Character Week  from 5th May

Aiming to arouse pupils’ interest in studying Chinese language, the Chinese Character Week received much interest from all the pupils in both Junior and Senior Schools.

With versatile and fun activities across the week, pupils were presented with a chance to explore their many interesting facets of character composition and enrich their knowledge about the origins of Chinese characters. Pupils were encouraged to positively engage in various activities in their spare time during the school day, which helped to prepare them to face the challenges in their study.

Pupils not only challenged themselves in the individual competition to see how well they can cope with Chinese characters, but also worked well in teams in the house competition to earn points for their house!   恭喜恭喜！
