ISCOT Badminton at Wellington College Tianjin

11 Jan 2016

Saturday 29th March saw Wellington College host their first ISCOT competition, a senior badminton tournament, after the junior competition earlier in this year.

The tournament followed a round robin format, with all schools playing one another once. Each school had a middle school team for boys and girls and a senior team for boys and girls. A total of 64 students were participating on the day.

The rules of the game made every point important for the players to fight for, which helped create a very competitive environment. The standard of play on all four courts was very high, particularly with the senior boys, who played some phenomenal rallies. And it is obvious that everyone played with a healthy competitive edge.

Finally Wellington ranked No. 2 with 801 points while IST topped with 834 points, a narrow gap for us to catch up with in the future. JaeBin of  Year 9 was awarded the MVP for Middle School boys. Many thanks for all the players for the fantastic day.
