YEAR 5 COOKING TRIP
On 10th December Year 5 went on a school trip to Wan Yun Living Kitchen. The aim of the day was for all of Year 5 students to learn how to make a range of Chinese dishes including dumplings, dim sum and chicken wings. There were all different colours of dumplings including orange, purple and green. The hardest part of making the dumplings was putting the ingredients inside the dough and turning it into a dumpling shape. Some of the dumplings were perfect but some were squashed and bursting with filling!
After they had finished cooking the dumplings and other food, they sat down and ate. The food was top quality! They had tasty noodles, gorgeous dumplings (well most of them) and some prawn crackers. After lunch, they went outside, took some pictures and joked around. It was then time to leave. It was a great day out and we were lucky to go. The most important thing was they had fun and we learnt about the skills of traditional Chinese cooking.
