Boys football – Wellington vs KIST
On Saturday 16th November, Wellington played their first home fixture against KIST. With a number of students away on the history trip the game provided an opportunity for new players to represent the College. The players from KIST provided a stern challenge from the start and brought the best out of a relatively inexperienced Wellington side. Buoyed on by a large crowd, Wellington settled into the game and came close to scoring on a number of occasions. Klint Marker proved a valuable addition to the team and made a promising debut. Ethan Tesdale almost made a dream start to his first game for the seniors, but was denied by the impressive KIST keeper. The game looked to be heading for a rare 0-0 draw when KIST counter attacked and finished the move with a goal. Unperturbed, Wellington threw everything at KIST but were unable to breach the goal.
Although the result was not what the players would have wished for, the occasion provided valuable experience. Many thanks to KIST for a great game.
