ISCOT Football Tournament
On Saturday 12th October 2013, Wellington’s Key Stage 3 football team travelled to REGO International School
to take part in their first ISCOT tournament. The inter-house competition played the day before had highlighted the apparent quality available at Wellington Tianjin, and gave all our players a good warm up and confidence competing against other schools in Tianjin. After three wins against IST (2-1), REGO (2-0) and TEDA (1-0), our team made it through the final against TIS. This was a huge achievement for the players in the first tourament and something they were rightly very proud of. A core group of supporters, led by the influential Edgar Oh, cheered as the players took to the field for the final, and their backing really helped galvanize the team. Wellington made the perfect start with a quick score, but in the end TIS took the score to 4-2 to win the game and tournament.
The games demonstrated Wellington’s composure and skill and highlighted the fantastic attitude of the players and their ability to work together in the face of adversity. The boys who represented the College should all be very proud of how they played and conducted themselves.
