Year 4 Assembly – Men with Beards and Helmets

08 Jan 2016

(Friday, 13th September) After a week of rehearsals, shooting video, decorating costumes and learning crazy dances, Year Four were ready to perform their assembly ‘Men with Beards and Helmets’. It was a show that encapsulated over 600 years of English history into just ten minutes, taking the audience through the Anglo Saxon, Viking and Norman eras. The children taught the audience about the best bits from this pivotal time in British History; all done in a tongue-in-cheek way, much like the popular Horrible Histories series.

Highlights of the show included a dance about monk slaves and a video about the infamous Battle of Hastings, narrated by Mr. Griffiths. Every child excelled in their role and both teachers were very proud of how much effort they put into the performance and the rehearsals. Bobo Lv even received the ‘Star of the Week’ award, as a result of her performance!
