Junior Graduation Ceremony

08 Jan 2016

On Friday, 28th June, 29 children graduated from Year 6 at Wellington College International, marking the end of their Junior School journey. The ceremony, held in the Seldon Theatre, was attended by parents and friends, together with the pupils and staff from Years 1 to 5.

The graduating class, resplendent in caps and gowns of the school colours, took to the stage, accompanied by Elgar’s familiar ‘Pomp and Circumstance’, and the applause of proud parents. The retiring Head of the Junior School, Mrs. Robinson, welcomed parents and friends with a brief address to the graduates on the theme of working hard while enjoying the learning journey and above all, holding fast to their dreams.

The Head Girls and Boys of Year 6 then gave a synopsis of “Life in Year Six”, after which the Master, Mr David Cook, presented the certificates assisted by the class teacher, Mrs Gill Elrick, and Miss Catherine Jia, the TA.

The Year Six graduates closed the proceedings by an enthusiastic rendition of “La Cucuracha” and “Flying Free”, after which parents, staff, graduates and friends adjourned to enjoy a sumptuous Graduation Tea.
