World Scholars Cup - ‘Shanghai April 2013’

08 Jan 2016

Following on from our successes in the competition during the last academic year, it was once again time to embark on a new WSC season, starting in Shanghai.  The event was held at Dulwich College over the weekend of the 27th and 28th April, involving the hallmark events such as debating, collective essay-writing and the clicker bowl. We took two teams: in the junior division, a crack team of experienced WSC veterans, Ada Chen, Katie Cook and Nicholas Thumiger, while rookies Edward Creighton and Raphael Jackson were led by Bangkok and Yale University stalwart Minju Park in the senior division.

All the pupils performed admirably, receiving various awards for both individual and team performances resulting in our biggest trophy and certificate haul in five WSC outings. The junior team won all three of their debates.

In the senior division the Wellington team once again impressed. Their two wins from three debates should give them great confidence as we look forward to the Global Round in Dubai.
