Wellington Tianjin welcomes Minju Oh – Wellington College’s Korean Intern

A unique feature of Wellington College International Tianjin is the strength of its links to its UK partner school, the prestigious Wellington College in Berkshire. This is no better illustrated than by the Internship Programme offered to former pupils of Wellington UK. Each year, several interns, or “gappies” as they are often fondly known, thanks to the gap between school and university in which they are taking the internship, come out to Tianjin to work in the school for between three and six months.

From January to March we were delighted to welcome our very own South Korean gappie, Minju Oh. After five years at the 150 year-old Wellington UK, Minju was very struck by how much of a feeling of community there already was at the school, less than two years since it opened. That, and what she described as a distinct “cosmopolitan buzz”, really made an impression on her as she lent an ever-smiling, ever-practical hand in both the Junior and Senior School.
