BBC Visits Wellington College International Tianjin

The BBC spent the day filming at Wellington on 6th November for a news segment on the increasing demand for British public school-style education in China,where the emphasis is on creativity and inquiry. The segment aired on 8th November on the BBC 6 O’clock and 10 O’clock news and on BBC World News on 9th November.

George Alagiah, award winning BBC television news presenter and journalist, conducted the interviews with the Master, David Cook and with Wellington pupils, including five year old piano prodigy, Mimi Zhou. George Alagiah is currently in China covering the leadership handover for the BBC and is conducting a series of reports on the relationship between China and the UK. After the interviews, the BBC team stayed to film Wellington’s musical production, Bugsy Malone, which was also highlighted on the news segment.
