House Football

08 Jan 2016
Wellington’s first House Football Tournament took place just before the national holidays, with over a 100 pupils taking part. The competition was spread over the course of the day, with the Seniors kicking off in the morning and the Juniors following in the afternoon.  All four Houses competed and the newly appointed Heads of House selected the squads. The Seniors produced some fantastic football, with some of the best football being played in the final. After a round-robin tournament, it came down to a final between Stanley and Blucher. It was a very entertaining game, with  The Stanley coming out on top with a 2-0 victory. The Junior Tournament was just as competitive, with a separate competition for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The most entertaining games had to be the KS1 games, though not necessarily due to the quality of the football! The pupils had a great afternoon with plenty of goals being scored. The KS2 tournament was very competitive, with the Stanley again coming out as deserving winners. Wellington’s next House competition will be in December when all four Houses will be competing once again for the House Basketball Trophy.
