Year 6 Graduation Ceremony
08 Jan 2016
On Friday, 15thJune, a graduation ceremony was held for pupils who have finished their Junior School studies and are leaving Year 6. All the pupils wore specially designed Wellington gowns and caps for the ceremony, which began with a welcome address from Ritchie Howells, Year 6 form teacher and Deputy Head of the Junior School. He spoke about the achievements of his Year 6 pupils over the year and how much they had all learned and grown, and above all how much fun they’d had doing it. This was followed by an address by the Head Boy and Head Girl, James Cook and Joanna Chang, who were a very good double act and acquitted themselves well. There were musical performances from Year 6 pupils Claire Kim, Elaine Yu and Maggie Zhang and speeches from Jane Robinson, Head of Junior School, and the Master, David Cook, both of which touched on the opportunities and challenges ahead as pupils moved ‘upstairs’ to the Senior School. Chair of Governors, Joy Qiao, and David Cook then presented the graduation certificates. The ceremony closed with a moving slide show of memories covering the year. The event finished with afternoon tea, including some quintessential British treats.
