World Heart Day

06 Jan 2016

The students of Wellington College participated in a range of different physical activities in order to raise awareness for World Heart Day. The World Heart Foundation has been raising awareness for the fight against heart disease and strokes since 2000. The students had a presentation outlining the key message of the foundation and to increase their awareness of the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle.

The Early Years, Junior and Senior students all participated in a range of physical activities throughout the afternoon including 100m sprints, penalty shootout, giant egg and spoon races among others. The afternoon had a fun but competitive edge to it, as the World Heart Day event was also Wellington’s first house competition. All students had the opportunity to earn house points for their relevant houses through competing in all the activities. There were a number of outstanding performances from the students.

The final results were:

Orange =276 points, Wellesley = 243 points, Blucher = 241 points, Stanley = 234 points
