23 Jan 2026

Recently, the highly respected international education evaluation body, KingLead, released its 2026 rankings. Wellington College International Tianjin once again achieved an outstanding result, securing 8th place nationwide in the China International School Innovative Competitiveness Ranking, attaining the highest “AAAAA” rating, and holding the Top 1 position in Tianjin. This accolade is not merely an honour; it is a well-deserved recognition of the school’s long-standing commitment to delivering exceptional, holistic education and embracing innovation to meet the challenges of the future.

KingLead’s rankings are renowned across the sector for their rigorous, scientific evaluation system. In response to global transformation and the wave of technological advancement, this year’s framework introduced a forward-looking “Sustainable Operation” indicator, placing particular emphasis on schools’ long-term health and stability.

Wellington College International Tianjin distinguished itself in this high-standard selection thanks to its solid achievements and outstanding performance across five key dimensions:

·Global Recognition, Local Impact: Our Commitment to Quality

The College is an accredited member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the Council of International Schools (CIS), two of the most respected international school accreditation bodies. Consistently excelling in rigorous compliance and quality assessments, the school has established itself as a global benchmark for excellence in teaching and learning in North China. These accreditations and achievements underscore our commitment to delivering an outstanding, internationally recognised education.

·The Wellington Difference: A Faculty Committed to Pupil Growth

Teachers are the foundation of educational excellence. At Wellington College International Tianjin, nearly 60% of our teaching staff are international educators, bringing an average of 11 years’ teaching experience and benefiting from an exceptionally high retention rate. This stable, skilled, and passionate team provides the inspirational guidance that nurtures our pupils’ academic and personal growth.

This outstanding record stands as a testament to our commitment to educational excellence. Beyond academics, Wellington serves as a dynamic bridge for cultural exchange between China and the world. Through active engagement in charitable initiatives and community programs in Tianjin and beyond, the school has earned widespread respect as an institution that fosters both intellectual growth and social responsibility.

·Experts' Assessment

The College’s exploration of curriculum innovation and holistic education practice has repeatedly attracted attention and recognition from educators both within China and internationally. In the 2025–2026 academic year, we were featured in the Hurun Education Top International Schools in China and the Sina Education “Influential International School” Awards. Dr Yang Yang, our Master, was honoured with the title of Forbes China International School Outstanding Principal, receiving widespread praise from industry and experts alike.

This honour belongs to every member of the Wellington community and to the pupils who continually challenge themselves, to the wise and dedicated teachers, and to the parents who have always placed their trust and support in the school.

Looking ahead, Wellington College International Tianjin will take this achievement as a new starting point and continue to deepen our innovative educational practices. We remain committed to nurturing future leaders who embody our five core values of Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage and Integrity in an ever-changing world.
