Wellington Shines in Academic Competitions

The 2024-2025 academic year has been a landmark period for Wellington College Tianjin Senior School, with our pupils achieving extraordinary success across a record-breaking 58 academic competitions—an impressive 45% increase from the previous year. From mathematics to science, humanities to business, our pupils have demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience, and intellectual curiosity on national and global stages.

Expanding Opportunities, Growing Success

 

This year, our pupils competed in diverse subject areas, including Science (24 competitions), Mathematics (18), Computer Science (7), English & Humanities (4), Economics & Business (3) and Music (2). The growth in participation reflects the school’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing pupils with platforms to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.

Mathematics Excellence

•Prestigious recognition with multiple pupils achieving the Honour Roll of Distinction (1) and distinction awards (2) in the rigorous American Mathematics Competitions (AMC 10/12)

•Strong showing in the challenging British Mathematical Olympiads (BMO), earning both Distinction award (1) and Merit awards (3)

•Exceptional performance in UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge with 8 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze

•Elite "Best in China" recognition at the Cambridge Upper Secondary Science Competition

•Medal-winning performance at the International Biology Olympiad (6 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze awards)

•Outstanding results in UK Chemistry Olympiad with pupils earning Gold medals (1) and Silver (2)
