Wellington College Tianjin Charity Summer Fair

On Saturday, 17th May 2025, Wellington College Tianjin once again hosted a joyous and heartwarming summer fair, themed “Welly and Friends' Teddy Bear Picnic Adventure.” Over 1,500 participants, including pupils, teachers, and parents, gathered on our  campus  to share an unforgettable afternoon. 

At the event, participants savoured food from around the world, participated in fun games for all ages, and enjoyed international stage performances and other exciting programmes. Teachers and pupils from the Early Years, Junior School, and Senior School planned and executed many engaging activities, including bouncy castles, face painting, water events, etc. Guests of all ages were thrilled and filled with boundless joy. 

This year’s summer fair theme, “Welly and Friends' Teddy Bear Picnic Adventure,” encouraged everyone to sit together and share a delightful spread of food. Vibrant fruit platters, crispy sandwiches, soft and sweet cakes, as well as a variety of homemade juices and drinks, were all on offer. As the children shared their meals, they learned the values of mutual respect and care, strengthening the bonds of friendship among them. Teachers also participated, sharing the joy of the picnic with the children, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere across the entire lawn. 

The Wellington Charity Summer Fair is not just a joyful campus event but also a significant charitable initiative. The funds raised at the event, amounting to 15000 RMB, will be donated to the Peizhi School in Hongqiao District. Established in 1985, Peizhi School provides special education for pupils with special needs. Through this event, we hope to send a message of warmth and hope to these children, letting them feel the care and support of the community. 

In addition, many generous sponsors supported our raffle draw by donating prizes, making it a highlight of the fair with many happy winners. We are deeply grateful to these sponsors for their invaluable contributions. The event was a true testament to the power of community support, with vendors, sponsors, and members of the Wellington community coming together to make it a resounding success.
