Wellington College Tianjin Musical Production
In March, Wellington College Tianjin will be presenting the all-time classic Broadway musical, Miss Saigon, performed exclusively by Senior School pupils. Before this, we had successfully staged annual musical productions such as Jekyll & Hyde, The Wizard of Oz, Grease, West Side Story and Les ‘Misérables.

A tragedy of passion and beauty, Miss Saigon is one of the most stunning theatrical spectacles of all time. Nominated for an incredible number of Olivier, Tony and Drama Desk Awards, Miss Saigon is the second massively successful offering from the creators of Les Misérables: Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil and has now been adapted for high school performers in Miss Saigon School Edition.
Among the most beloved songs from this poignant tale are "The Heat Is on in Saigon," which sets a vibrant and energetic tone for the unfolding drama, and "The Movie in My Mind," a reflective piece that delves into the aspirations and dreams of the show's female characters. "The Last Night of the World" is a beautiful duet capturing the fleeting and poignant moments of love between the main characters, while "I Still Believe" is a heartfelt duet symbolizing enduring hope and love despite separation and adversity. "Sun and Moon" tenderly portrays a love that surpasses cultural boundaries, highlighting the deep emotional connection between the protagonists. These songs not only enhance the storytelling but also contribute significantly to the enduring popularity and emotional resonance of "Miss Saigon," ensuring its place in the hearts of audiences worldwide.
