Welcome back to school

It has been wonderful to welcome back our pupils on campus once again. As I walked around the College it was a pleasure to see the smiles, positive energy and eagerness of our pupils and teachers on their return to school.
Our e-learning approach across the school was invaluable in making sure that pupils were actively engaged and learning from the very first day. We were able to share our learning objectives for every subject and every year group with parents. Pupils demonstrated with aplomb their ability to work independently in a variety of ways and the faculty worked tirelessly to make sure that pupils continued to make progress during e-learning, with pupils producing some outstanding work.
However, there is always something special about an on-campus experience at Wellington that is greater than the sum of the individual parts. When pupils enjoy learning and interacting with their peers and teachers face-to-face, there is a high probability that they will make further progress and become increasingly self-motivated and driven.
We thank you, the parents, for your support over the last several weeks and we look forward to continuing the learning journey with you.

It was wonderful to see our fabulous pupils return to the school. Everyone was so happy to be together again, sharing lots of exciting stories about e-learning and the recent New Year and Lantern Festival celebrations.
Across the Junior School, we heard pupils recite poems they had learned independently in round 1 of our Poetry by Heart competition. The calibre of performance was extraordinary and pupils were awarded points for voice, understanding, performance and accuracy. The finals will be this Friday in the theatre, so please watch out for the video.
To the pupils, parents, staff and our wider community, welcome back!
