HRH The Duke of York to Conduct the Inauguration of Wellington College International Tianjin
Monday, August 16, 2010
The Governors and Headmaster are delighted to announce the Official Inauguration of the College by HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, on Friday 10th September 2010. Our partner school, Wellington College in the UK, is a royal foundation, dating from the reign of Queen Victoria in the middle of the 19th century, and so has very close ties to the British royal family. The presence of Prince Andrew at the inauguration of the College will see the extension of these royal ties to Tianjin and also demonstrates the strength of the partnership between the new Wellington and its counterpart in the UK. His visit promises to be a day none of us at Wellington will ever forget and certainly one for the history books of both the College and Tianjin.
Dr Anthony Seldon, Master of Wellington College in the UK, will be attending, and he will be joined by Mr David Cook, Founding Headmaster of the College in Tianjin, in a question-and-answer session for prospective parents. Places at the ceremony will be strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come basis to those parents who apply to us to attend this event. All applications should be sent to registrar@wellingtoncollegeintl.cn.
