Early Years pupils are introduced to foundational concepts through engaging, play-based learning. This stage focuses on the early developmental milestones set out in the British EYFS framework, ensuring a well-rounded approach that prepares them for future academic success.
Each class is overseen by an educational team, including two certified teachers: one Western teacher and one Chinese teacher, both supported by highly qualified teaching assistants. In this enriching setting, children engage in exploration through play, alongside daily activities in phonics, maths, literacy, and outdoor learning in both English and Mandarin languages. This approach not only fosters a love of learning in our pupils but also builds a solid foundation for a confident transition to primary school.
Our rigorous international primary school curriculum provides the foundation upon which your child will build long-termacademic success. Modelled after the English National Curriculum, ourBritish-style education integrates key elements from the International Primary Curriculum and is enriched by a diverserange of co-curricular activities.
It is during the primary school years that pupils make the pivotal transition from general classroom teaching tospecialised teaching, fostering independence and personal responsibility as they prepare for secondary school. By theend of year 6, they will be well prepared to advance confidently to secondary school.
Our international secondary school curriculum instils an abiding passion for global scientific, linguistic, and cultural heritage in our pupils. Pupils are encouraged to pursue diverse courses and challenge themselves beyond their comfort zones.
After completing the secondary curriculum at our international school, pupils graduate with the knowledge, skills, and independence of mind that will make them effective and responsible leaders in the future.
In years 10 and 11, pupils work toward the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), which offers a comprehensive mix of core subjects, such as English, mathematics and science, along with options in the humanities, arts and PE.
In the International Curriculum Centre, pupils study the A Level programme. This two-year course allows pupils to look deeper into a range of subjects through both the (AS Level) in year 12 and progressing to A Level in year 13. The A Levels are widely recognised as the gold standard for preparation and qualification to the top universities worldwide.
Mandarin Chinese is taught as a core subject throughout the College curriculum designed for both non-native and native speakers. As part of our mission to develop well-rounded and internationally-minded pupils, our Mandarin curriculum and cultural studies complement our international British curriculum, which spans from the British EYFS in nursery to primary and secondary school.
To ensure the best learning experience, we thoroughly assess each pupil’s abilities and place them in classes that align with their proficiency.
